Istanbul is the biggest and most populous city in Turkey with a population of close to 15 million people. This large metropolis with several distinct districts offers great entertainment, comfortable budget hotels, superb nightlife, and excellent shopping and is an exciting place to visit any time of the year. Some of the districts of Istanbul where a tourist will want to go include Sultanahmet, Galata (and walk across the Galata Bridge), the Bosphorus – also lovely to walk along, the Princes’ Islands, and the Golden Horn. For the tourist who is on a limited budget, Istanbul also has its share of cheap hotels and offers some great hotel deals.
