Budget Hotels on the Asian side of Istanbul

As Istanbul, especially on the European side of the city becomes more and more expensive to visit and find a hotel, why not look to the Asian (Anatolian) side of Istanbul for hotels to suit your budget? When seeking a cheap hotel in Istanbul, the neighborhood of Kadıköy on the Asian side of Istanbul, offers much in the way of discount accommodation. Mind you, there are also more expensive hotels on the Anatolian side, but here, we are talking about budget hotels only.

Kadıköy is found on the south eastern side of the Bosphorus Sea. It is one of the chief areas on the Asian side of Istanbul, not far from Üsküdar, Maltepe and Karta. It is not difficult to get to. The easiest way to get to Kadıköy is by boat or the frequent ferry service from either the Besiktas or Karaköy docks. You can also get to the Asian side of Istanbul by taxi or bus on the route over the Bosphorus bridge, but the traffic holdups can get horrendous.

There is a lot to see in Kadıköy including museums, a variety of mosques and churches, an opera house, historical houses (because it is the oldest part of Istanbul), markets, a business center and plenty of shopping.

You’ll also find numerous restaurants with a diverse range of food and price structure for the days you spend on your vacation on the Asian side of Istanbul. There is also a lot of choice when it comes for activities you may want to do. There are plenty of jazz clubs, cafes, restaurants and bars. You should also go over to the European side of Istanbul as well, of course, but here we are presenting some budget hotel options in Istanbul but on the Asian side, over the Bosphorus.

For long term stays in Istanbul, you can extend your hotel budget by staying on the Asian side of Istanbul and exploring both sides of Istanbul but from a cheaper hotel.

The first budget hotel in the Kadıköy neighborhood of Istanbul we’d like to suggest is the Hotel Kadıköy which is a great budget traveler’s deal, where rooms start at 26 euros a night. It’s a simple hotel, quiet with friendly staff to serve you. It is just five minutes walk away from the Bosphorus, making it easy to go for walks along the shoreline. It is also close to the tram stop and the bus station. Over the water, you can see the western (European part) of Istanbul – the city’s historical center. You are also close to the town center of Kadıköy where you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes, which makes its location very convenient.

There is a 24 hour reception desk, a safety deposit box, an elevator, telephone, laundry service, internet access, parking and a place to leave your luggage if you need to. The Kadıköy Hotel also has a bar/cafe. Children up to three years old are free to stay and the Kadıköy Hotel will provide a cot for your child to sleep in.

You’ll find the Kadıköy Hotel a great place to stay if you are seeking a budget hotel in Istanbul. It’s clean, simple with a nice friendly atmosphere here on the Asian (Anatolian) side of Istanbul.
