Hotel Ambassador, Istanbul

The Hotel Ambassador was renovated a few years ago. There are 22 rooms, including two suites, nicely decorated, air conditioned, clean, but the basic rooms are small-ish. The hotel suites come with a jacuzzi in the room. They were okay to sleep in, and that, as a matter of fact, was all that we did because we were out and about in Istanbul, every day and every night. The crowning glory of the Ambassador is the terrace/dining area which is a rooftop terrace overlooking the Sea of Marmara, Heybeliada Island, the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Sultanahamet Park. For us, the view was so unexpected and left us very excited about the view. For an Istanbul budget hotel, the view is magnificent and priceless!

Single rooms start at 75 Euro per night. A double room is 89 Euros a night. The junior suite costs 104 Euros and the family rooms are 135 Euros per night. It all depends on what your budget is. There are cheaper hotels in Istanbul, but this is worth the price. If you book from the Ambassador Hotel’s website, you’ll get the best rate for this budget hotel in Istanbul. If you stay for a week or more, they will include a free Bosphorus tour in your hotel package price. And, if you pay for cash, they will give you a 5% discount.

Other amenities at the Ambassador Hotel include a lobby bar, a fitness center, a spa and massage therapy and Turkish bath services, free internet access, telephone, hairdryer, minibar, satellite TV, airport shuttle service, 24 hour reception/concierge, and laundry/dry cleaning services. The Ambassador Hotel staff were quite helpful and friendly, basically willing to help you with anything, including tourist information and flight confirmations.

The Ambassador Hotel is an excellent budget hotel in Istanbul and you won’t be disappointed. Many people who come to Istanbul and stay at the hotel and then return again to the City, are repeat guests of the Hotel.
